Sometimes it’s hard to figure out how to design a small bedroom on the attic to get the most functional space and at the same time do not forget about comfort.

Today’s project is the work of designer Elena Jimenez, who gave new life to the attic, having designed a place for sleep, relaxation and full wardrobe. In the attic her son used to be engaged, and after graduation, the place was especially needed by no one. And then Elena decided to renew the attic, filling it with light and fresh the air she loves so much.

Such an interior could not do without a small library, hidden in a black glazed closet that was moved here from the first floor. According to the owners, here it looks much it’s better.

This is a photo of the attic before updating. She looked good and used for classes and relaxation. When is the functional the destination has changed; repairs have been needed.

The first thing that was done was painted a low ceiling in white color to make it visually a little lighter. The tree looked good, however it was the darkest element, therefore always “crushed” those who were in the attic.

Tip: If you like the look of wooden beams, leave them in its original form. Many love the mood that creates natural wood in the bedroom. You can repaint the ceiling in any moment (after a couple of years tired, took a brush and updated interior).

A coffee table made of wooden bars looks charming. In combination with candles and green branches, the composition looks complete.

By the way, you can make it yourself. For this need hot glue, a long walk through the woods looking suitable rods, time and a little patience.

Design of a small attic bedroom

Warmth and coziness add wooden elements. Retro tables, chests and storage baskets look very appropriate here. Helena says she wanted to create an interior for a beach house somewhere in the south France, it seems she did it very well. Actually a house located near Barcelona in the very center San Cugat del Valles.

In order to complement the atmosphere for the head of the bed was selected soft pink color, and as textiles – cotton and linen.

Details always create a mood

The attic bedroom cannot be without a dressing room. For it is most convenient to use storage systems space under the roof slope. You can equip niches with drywall, making maximum use of the available area, but you can find cabinets of the right height, on top of which to arrange places for storage of books, photos and other trifles.

The decision depends on the amount of things stored. For permanent residence of two people, such a system as in the photo, will be not enough, but for one – that’s enough.
